Started 6/19/07 ~ The Quilt

I started by cutting up the fabric. Well, thats not true. I started with a pattern. Then we picked out the fabric (and figured out how much of each color to get). THEN I cut it all into 4 inch squares.

Then I got to lay it out to see how it will look. So exciting!

Then I take all the squares from one row and sew them together in order.

So, sewing all the pieces together is the same thing over and over again. But after the top is done, we now have to put the three layers together. Here is the back side of the quilt stretched over a frame. It's super-extra-wide quilt backing so I wouldn't have any seams.

Now we lay the batting over the frame, making sure it is smooth and even.

Now we stretch the top over the frame and pin through all 3 layers.

I decided to tie my quilt, instead of quilting it. (tying is faster and easier) But I didn't want the embroidery floss ends to be on the front, so I tied them on the back. :)

As I tie, I roll the quilt up so I can reach the middle.

And now link is on my bed! He keeps me warm at night... ;) Finished 10/22/07
